About Riikka
I married myself above the clouds on the top of Haleakalā in Maui, at sunrise in 2008. The air was cold and the light was divine. I had one witness. I was on a solo journey, driving around the island in an old, slightly beat-up rental car, and a few days earlier I had bought a simple, beautiful ring in Paia.
That morning, I said yes to myself—without fully understanding what it meant, only knowing that it was true.
It was a profound experience, and it changed me. That somewhat spontaneous, quiet ceremony became a turning point in my spiritual path and in how I relate to love.
This retreat is born from that moment.
